How do I change the per-day calculation of the Salary after I generate the payroll?
Solution
There are multiple ways to edit number of working days in payroll and it is easier than you think! Read on to learn.
In the Cloud Payroll system, we let users decide the total working days in the payroll and employee payslip, whether to follow the Normal Working Days or follow the days of the current calendar month. And of course, even though you could do the setting in advance, users may still edit number of working days in payroll while they are processing the payroll.
Payroll Settings on Working Days
First of all, Let’s start with the Settings.
Under Setup, Go to Company > Company Profile > Settings > Payroll Setting. Click on the Setup to bring up the settings window.
At the Payroll Settings> Number of Days for Payroll Calculation. User may select to calculate the employee’s salary rate following Normal Working Days or the Number of days in the calendar month.
If the user selects the Number of the day in the calendar Month, the system will calculate the salary daily rate following the total days of the payroll calendar month, e.g., November 2021 payroll, the system will display total working days as 30 days.
Determine your Normal Working Days To determine the Normal Working Days of the company, please go to Company > Company Profile > Settings > Overtime Settings. Clicks on Setup to bring up the setting window. Here, the user may decide what is the Monthly Normal Working Days. By default, the system will be set as 26 days
Edit Number of Working Days when Generate Payroll
User may also edit number of working days in payroll when they are generating the payroll.
Go to Payroll > Generate Payroll, user will be prompt with the settings to select the payroll months and sequence. Under Days Worked, user may still make changes on the working days for employees with Once a Month and Twice a month pay frequency.
Edit Number of Working Days after Generate Payroll
After the user generates the payroll, If the user still wants to edit number of working days in Payroll. He/she may do so by simply clicking on the Salary items of the particular employee to bring up the Basic Salary Details.
User may change the Unit fields to edit number of working days in payroll. The field on the left is the employee’s total worked days of the month, the field on the right side is the total working days of the month.
Both fields are editable > Click Ok to update the employee’s daily rate.
Recalculate Contribution Rates after Any Amendments at the Income & Deductions section is a necessary step
